Dec. 28th, 2014 07:10 pmA friend asked me about my paintings. As I've written, the studio work pretty much stopped over the summer. I was so focused on how to financially get through a week that there was no energy left for painting. But, I was able to explore iPad paintings and that filled my creative space.
Before I stopped painting, I had painted these:
oil on Arches oil paper, 16"x10"

oil on canvas, 30"x40"

oil on canvas, 36"x36"

oil on canvas, 40"x30" (this, right now, is my all time favorite)

About 6 weeks ago, I returned to painting. I pulled out an old canvas, and worked it. It's still in progress but I love where it's headed. And, although these are all from my "beach" series, I am getting a better sense of what I really am exploring in the work. It is about the journey to the beach...but in a deeper sense, I'm explore "Home". Pardon the crappy photo in this one.
